I love this item. Saw it on CBS morning news..we have four overhead fans and usually I wait for the cleaning ladies to clean them…no MORE..I can use this weekly..no more dust.. It helps to open the one end though so that it slides effortlessly over the blad and yet still cleans. I spray a bit of cleaner to dampen the microfiber and it works GREAT. These come off easily to wash – don’t USE FABRIC SOFTENER though, beware, since microfiber will gunk up and not retain its absorbency then. I wash and hand dry..Just a simple product but what a workhorse!

Update: I had forgotten that this item opens up to be used on baseboards and walls and that it came with a hand held duster. This did make the purchase more valuable to me- since usable more than one way. Therefore I upped my star rating to 4- still not easy to get onto a fan blade- that should still be re-thought. Yes I agree with other reviewers that mentioned it was a bit clumsy and difficult to slide onto a fan blade. It is. However when you do, it cleans sufficiently and due to the way it’s constructed there is no residue flying into the air- as the cleaner traps it all within. I was able to clean 3 fans within the time frame of about 10-15 min’s but the handle sure could be longer and I had to stop and re-insert/screw in the handle at one point since the top portion swivels all over. All together a good idea, but the construction of it could sure use a bit of work, especially since I paid almost $40 for this.

I bought the 3ft version and use an extension pole I already own to reach my tall ceiling. The duster is a nice long, and flexible, piece. The part that cleans the fan blades does the job but gets stuck on the blade. The extended pole is not sturdy enough to cause the blade cleaner to just slide off.

Just used this product for the third time since purchase. Complaints: button on one side works great to open or close unit. The other side is impossible to lock or unlock by hand. I use a tablespoon to force the lock/unlock into position. 2nd Complaint: you have to angle the cleaner head at just the right angle on the fan blade or it will not slide on. It is a very tight fit, and difficult to do standing on the floor, even with the handle extended. Your arms and shoulders will be exhausted. Good point: it does clean the blades well. But I am not smiling like the girl in the commercial.

I have two ceiling fans and hardly ever cleaned them. I’m getting older and just don’t trust myself on a step stool. When I did do it it was a very messy job, dust in my face, eyes. This thing is fantastic! Give it a slight wiggle from side to side as you slip it over the blade. Very little dust fell from the end of the blade. And there was a lot of buildup! I’ve cleaned the tops of my kitchen cabinets with ease using the duster. Shaking the dust off outside was really easy as well. The locks on the side could break if your not careful. I can see masking tape as a workaround if it does. Would hold it on and be relatively easy to remove.

This tool is awesome. I hated dusting my fans. Had to get the ladder out, lots of towels and cleaner, what a pain. With this a couple of swipes and clean. I went over with a damp cloth where the brush didn’t get but over all awesome.
