  1. zefie

Works as expected. Was able to use this to cover the unused ports on my Dell switch for my home network.

  2. Gary

These are great for keeping the dirt out of the network ports. I have seen dust collect in the switch ports. My switches are in the basement and it get dusty down there. I will be ordering more of these for not only the switches but the patch panels and even the extra ports not being used in multi port network cards.

  3. Brandon

My server equipment is in the crawl space. Due to that, I needed a way to keep dust out of unused ethernet ports. These worked well, but they are almost too wide such that they overlap each other when placed next to each other. As long as they’re not disturbed, they don’t fall out, so it works for what I wanted.

  4. cp2004

My house is in a pollen belt and we have a cat and a dog. No amount of dusting will prevent dust from accumulating in the unoccupied jacks.

These pop right int to unused patch panels, wall plates, and even equipment with multiple Cat5/Cat6 ethernet ports that may not be used. Less pollen and pet dander means more reliable, often faster speeds, especially with nominal 2.5g and 10g connections.

I’ve found that having my unused keystones and ports covered cleans up the rack layout and makes diagnostics/toubleshooting easier.

It’s an excellent value and wish I’d used them years ago in the Middle East.

I bought them to keep things plugged into unused POE ports. They do the job to keep things that don’t belong in their protected

  6. Dave R.

Easy to use, and does the job well. Great way to keep dust out of any RJ45 port (ethernet, cisco console, etc). Would definitely recommend if you have an ethernet switch and/or live in a dusty area.

  7. Gary

These RJ45 Dust covers are just what I needed. I install a lot of ethernet switches in plant/industral settings and often dust is a real problem. Also I sometimes have no choice but to mount a patch panel or switch with the jacks facing up. These dust covers take care of both types of installs. I have tried others that either do not fit very snug, or are a pain to insert and/or remove. The round knob like protrusion on the front makes inserting them and removing them really easy. They fit snugly, but are not a pain to install or remove. The price is good and I like that they are packaged in 50 count boxes. This is the quality I have come to expect from Cable Matters, and they did not let me down on these dust covers. I can highly recomend these dust covers and will be purchasing more.

dust cover, really need those for a switch, or a server rack. easy to remove, easy to install.
