These work really well. They operate smoothly and are convenient, one push to open, one push to close, then just press the shaft closed to recharge the spring and snap the closure to keep the folds tight and its ready for storage. Itys compact enough to fit in the door pockets so its handy when needed.
Construction is durable but far from unbreakable; it will hold up to regular use quite well.

I had a Lejorain 54inch Large Compact Golf Umbrella before I purchased this one. Something broke on it and it wouldn’t open and close right so I couldn’t use it. I liked the convenience of it, opening and closing at the touch of a button, the compact size and the wooden handle that made it appear expensive. So, even though my previous umbrella broke I bought two more (one for me and one for my wife). But, if any of the ones I recently purchased break, I’ll not buy any more from Lejorin.

I bought this to go to funerals. It was large enough for two people to stand under in the rain. I carried it in my carry on luggage bag on the plane and TSA was fine with it. It has the nicest umbrella handle and folds down easy with a sheath to keep it in. I’ve thought about buying another one to keep in the car.

I’ve had this umbrella in my bookbag for the longest. I loved the handle because it looked very quality. However, the real test came on a rainy day. The umbrella worked fine until it was time to put it away in order to get on the bus. It just wouldn’t close. I pressed the close button over and over again, but nothing happened. So in order for me to get in the bus, I decided to pull it close. The rod bent like nobody’s business. So I had to throw away the thing since people were already laughing at me trying to close an umbrella so I can get on the bus. Got to my stop and had to walk home in the pouring rain without an umbrella. I couldn’t get 1 complete use of the umbrella. Very disappointed.
Update (08/04/2018) After leaving my review, i was contracted by the company and they explained to me that the umbrella wasn’t designed to close manually. They decided to send me another. It was raining heavily when it arrived and i decided to use the replacement umbrella. It worked beautifully. I like the Umbrella because it fits well in my bag and when i use it, it’s much bigger than regular pocket sized umbrellas. Yes, the issue i had was a user error and not the product itself. I intend to buy another one shortly.

I purchase 2 Lejorain 54inch Umbrella, one for each car. I open the box at my office and push the button and the umbrella open and closed and it was OK. I have not use it yet during the rain storm. I push the button on the Second Umbrella and top flew across the room and the spring fell out of the handle and hit the floor. I put the second umbrella in the box and sent it back.

Update 1/28/2019 I purchase 2 Lejorain 54″ umbrella and use 1 only 4 times when I closed it , it would not re-open. The other umbrella when I first open it, it shot across the room in pieces. I like the design and features but it does not work the first time or over time.
Update July 21, 2018 The reason I selected the 54 inch umbrella with auto open and close is its easy getting in and out of the car. My wife and I are old, fat and ugly and we now fit under one umbrella. This is a very good umbrella and Lejorain customer service is a great company to do business with. In my first review I purchase 2 umbrellas and one work and the other did not. Lejorain contacted me within days and wanted me to tell them the problem. They told me I would receive another umbrella in a week and I got it two days later. Lejorain really want their customers to be happy and if there is a problem they want to fix it. Lejorain sell umbrella, not some expensive product, they really want happy customers on a rainy day.

I don’t like buying garbage and that’s what this product is – garbage. I researched a ton of different umbrellas before buying this one. I was looking for a quality option that would last for years. I didn’t want a flimsy, umbrella that would break easily and need to be replaced every year. This one had pretty good reviews, it’s heavy – suggesting quality parts and construction. It looks great. I opened it no problem. Then when I went to close it, the handle slipped out of my hand and it re-opened by accident. That broke the umbrella. All it did was re-open. It didn’t drop. I was following the manufacturer instructions for how to close it properly and still it broke. The first time I used it. I communicated this to the seller. I sent them a video demonstrating that it was broken. They confirmed that it was broken and that I should close it properly, then stopped responding to my messages. No offer to fix it, not an offer for a replacement nor even a discount to buy a replacement. That brand new umbrella, opened once, is now in the trash. Will never purchase another umbrella from this company. Terrible product. Terrible service.

First, let me say that I love this umbrella. It’s sturdy, compact, and has a huge canopy when opened. (I want something that’s going to cover me AND my backpack, while commuting!) After buying one 5 years ago, I decided it was getting a bit hard to close, and decided to replace it with the same thing.
Well, the difference between the one I bought 5 years ago, and the one I just received today, is an “improvement” made to the strap that holds it closed. The original one I got had a Velcro closure. This one new has a snap button.
Now, granted — one of the main reasons I’m replacing the old one is that over time the Velcro closure doesn’t hold as well as it used to. But, my problem with the snap closure is that it’s much less forgiving. Even trying it out in dry conditions, it took a major effort to get the umbrella compact enough for the strap to reach around it and allow it to actually snap closed. I just can’t imagine doing that with it when it’s wet from rain, and I’m in a hurry! (And don’t want to get really wet wrestling with a wet umbrella.) Maybe it’s that the strap is just too short, and too optimized to close when the umbrella is perfectly folded — which, when you’re on the go, is never. If the strap itself were a little longer, it would be fine.
As it is, I’m going to have to buy some additional bungee or velcro strap to carry around to put on it. And that’s an inconvenience, considering that the first one of these that I bought worked so perfectly for many years.
