Maybe I’m expecting a bit too much. Last time I bought steel mixing bowls was in the 90’s, but even back then, sturdiness and a well-made product were making way for planned obsolescence (thanks Iacocca, you sucked!)…
This was a bit of a surprise, though. I’d carefully shopped when I bought my long-ago set, so I knew what I was looking for – a well-rounded lip, uniform on each bowl; the offset just below that lip, so that similarly sized bowls won’t form a suction bond so strong, they fuse into one; flat bottoms and unpolished exterior, to provide stability; polished interior, to make cleanup easier. This set has all those features.
With all those details indicating a high-quality set, I was a bit surprised by the features that I found lacking. First of all, they’re about as thick as a sheet of parchment paper. Thicker than notebook paper, but definitely FAR thinner than I’d expected from steel mixing bowls. They’re definitely NOT on par with, say, the bowl for my Kitchen aid stand mixer, and not even close to my 90’s set! My other problem was the size. With so many bowls in the set, I didn’t check the dimensions as carefully as I should. These things are okay, but I certainly can’t mix up a triple batch of cookie dough in here, and my husband won’t be mixing the filling for his apple pies in here, either. Turn out, it’s going to cost me around $120 more to buy the bigger bowls we need. I’m very lucky that only one of those from my last set has grown feet.
Without spending a bloody fortune, this is probably the best you’ll do for less than $500+. It’s just a sad thing to see, that they’re so thin, small, and flimsy, I’ll probably be replacing them a LOT sooner than 25 years from now. My last set was cheap enough on the pay of a lower enlisted in the army to afford, and I still have several of those. If I can keep those from disappearing as my kids move out, I expect I’ll still have those when I buy my next set. I really hope those are thicker than heavy duty aluminum foil!
While the bowls are definitely NOT worth 4 stars, the extras are nicer than they are, so they earn a couple more.

Good quality for the price. I bought this set for my daughter, she was impressed with all the items included. Just be aware that the whisk and other utensils are small.

Very nice, heavier than expected, but that was a bonus. Very nice set

I absolutely love this mixing bowl set! The lightweight design makes handling a breeze, and the colorful lids not only add a pop of fun but also serve practical purposes. I find myself using these bowls daily, whether it’s for cooking prep or door storage. It is a fantastic addition to my kitchen essentials!

Got this as a Christmas present for a relative who likes to bake pastries … she still ain’t missing no meals. 👌🏾🤣 She thought it was a gag gift at 1st but was actually happy with what’s all included and the colors. I think I did good. 😊

This was a gift for my son who has taken up baking. He’s delighted with the variety and quality of the product.

I gave this three stars because it has some nice pans, measuring cups and spoon but after using the mixer two times the multiple strand mixer thing broke while I was mixing my cake mix. Honestly the pans, cups, and spoons are worth the money but the mixer and one of the handles are a bit cheaply made.

These are heavy good quality bowls, not thin tin like some you see sold out here. The lids to the bowls are also good quality with seals that stay air tight.
