After 11 months, a wind gust broke the cheap locking mechanism. Can no longer use umbrella, therefore, cannot recommend.
Update – I contacted the manufacturer via Amazon. They quickly responded and sent a replacement umbrella.

Space is a premium in my RAV4 Prime, but I wanted to keep an umbrella at hand for the unexpected rainstorm. This works wonderfully because I can store it in my center console, which it easily accessible and keeps the car from looking cluttered.
It’s a little small for a lot of rain protection, but that’s expected for such a compact umbrella. For what it is, though, it works great.

I bought this umbrella for a trip in 2022 that was dry so I did not need the umbrella. Fast forward 11 months and I take it on my next backpacking trip in an Ireland. On the third use It was blown inside out and 2 of the metal ribs were broken by a huge gust of wind that probably was in excess of 70mph.. Since the umbrella was described as wind proof I contacted the seller and inquired about a replacement under their warranty. The seller responded quickly and immediately shipped a replacement that arrived in 3 days. Excellent service. The umbrella is big enough to keep me dry and packs very small, fitting easily into a side pocket of my pack. It even has a soft carry bag with drawstring closure. Nice!

The umbrella is very good size, ideal for carrying in backpack pocket. a little bit flimsier than I expected, I hope it goes well in wind, as I am not sure how flexible it is. Ok so far.

It is compact but it also is a little bit flimsy. it’s a bit hard to lock open into place and the actual knob at the bottom moves around and it won’t click into place when you want to look it up I wouldn’t recommend this product

EDIT: The umbrella also did not hold up in wind, flipped inside out a lot which made it a little hard to use during vacation. That said, the seller immediately send me a replacement which I will try out next time it rains here at home. I have to compliment the seller for quick response and sending a replacement so quickly. Hoping the new one does better. Still really like the size and look
The plus: light, small, nice pattern on the inside. Handle comfortable. Held up well in light wind but heavy rain.
The minus: Used it twice now and not for very long, already showing little tears poking through. I can tell because the color from the pattern inside is now starting to poke through to the outside where the hinges touch the material. I’m not hard on it, and literally have used it twice for an hour or so each time, then just folded it shut and wrapped the velcro around it. Pics attached. I am afraid it will continue to damage and create little leak holes.
A bit hard to roll out, maybe it will wear in. And not as “flat” as other travel umbrellas, but the size is pretty nice overall.
