I love this umbrella! It’s a two person size. Love the push button open & close feature. It has been hard to find in my area. It’s strong in wind and rain storms. I lost my previous one and was happy to find this one on Amazon!

I live in Florida, so umbrellas are for more than just rain. I use my umbrella at Disney, little league games, in the rain, hiking, etc. I use my umbrella all the time.

Which is why I wanted to upgrade from a smaller personal size to a slightly larger one. When the sun is beaming down and there is no shade in sight for myself and my family, this umbrella helps shade us when we can’t find cover. In fact, I would say that I use my umbrellas more for sun than rain.

The umbrella itself is well made and up to the Totes usual standards. The unlock mechanism is solid and smooth. The material is lightweight and the pattern is nice.

I absolutely love the form factor and how it rests nicely in my backpacks side pocket.

Overall, it’s a quality choice over the no-name brands, because I would rather spend a little more on a product that has a little more warranty than a knock off.

Great for sun or shine and light and small enough to carry everywhere.

Nice product with nice color combination. I like the opening and closing mechanism which is automatic and make it easy when entering or leaving a covered please in the rain. the size and weight are the only small issue but it is not a problem when you carry it in your backpack.

The umbrella is large enough to keep me from getting wet from the rain, and the quality is good enough to withstand strong winds, and the automatic opening design is easy to use.

Great umbrella for when you need something that provides a lot of coverage but packs up in a portable package. I decided to buy this since my city gets pretty windy when it rains, so smaller umbrellas were just leaving my pants entirely soaked. At the same time, I needed something a little more portable since I like to carry my umbrella in my bag whenever the forecast suggests it might rain.

This umbrella fairs perfectly in the “stopping water from touching you from above” category, as do most other umbrellas. This one has the significant advantage of being huge and being able to cover you, your personal items/bags, and one other person and their belongings comfortably. In fact, you can easily squeeze three people under it and not get wet if you don’t have any belongings. You get all that coverage AND it packs up into the size of a regular small folding umbrella.

However, since it’s that large and folds, it’s a little weak when it comes to wind. I often feel it moving in my hands when I’m walking in wind, and anything more than 10-15 mph winds will be hard to hold it up straight in. So far, I’ve had it flip inside-out 4 times, so I have to admit that it’s not the greatest umbrella to bring out on a windy day. However, I have to admit that I’ve never had an umbrella collapse on me 4 times and still keep working. Perfectly. Without any issues. Even the auto open/close. So it’s tough. Buy this, but not if your city is very windy.

I purchase this umbrella about a year and a half ago, and after using it in a torrential downpour last night, felt compelled to write a review for this fantastic item.

In the eighteen months I have owned this umbrella, it has kept me dry in countless rainstorms in New York, including ones with significant wind gusts (such as those found in the wind tunnels that form between the city’s skyscrapers). Not once has the canopy or the aluminum supports failed, even as I’ve watched those around me ditch their crumpled, destroyed umbrellas in sidewalk trash cans.

This is especially amazing given how big this umbrella is, canopy-wise. It really is golf-umbrella sized, and as a 6’3” person, it keeps me fully dry from the knees up in “raining sideways” storms, and fully dry in “vertical” rainstorms. Despite its impressive reach, it still folds down to a very compact size – bit slimmer than the 17oz S’well bottle I keep in the other side pocked of my backpack. The included sleeve is also very nice for storing the umbrella, wet or not.

And finally, I’ll mention the opening and closing mechanism. It is so great to be able to pop it open with one click, and not have to worry about fighting a slider to push up the canopy. Moreover, as you’re approaching your destination, it is quite easy to click the button again just as you open the door, and have the canopy collapse down. No more fighting to close an umbrella outside, resulting in you being as wet as you would have been had you not had an umbrella at all, just before getting to you destination. A quick click of the Totes, and you can walk in easily, staying dry throughout.

2021 update: The umbrella is still incredible. No bends, no fraying, no rips. The open close mechanism works smoothly even after 2 years. The handle material is not holding up well though. I store it indoors with normal temperatures, I don’t think it has even been left in a hot car once, but for some reason the handle is deteriorating. It is sticky with a very noticeable residue left on the hand afterwards and it has collected lint and dirt that can’t be cleaned off. It seems like a bad batch of plastic/rubber to me, and if the umbrella wasn’t so great I’d probably replace it just to not have to deal with the handle.

    Original review:
I’m 6’3″, I bought this umbrella to replace an older version of this same model by Totes, the one I’m replacing lasted for almost 5 years before I broke one of the rivets folding it up. I’ve had a few dozen umbrellas and almost every one of them was too small to keep my legs dry while walking in the rain. This Totes umbrella folds down to about the same size as a normal umbrella, but it has a MUCH larger diameter which lets me take full strides while walking without my feet and legs getting wet from the rain and dripping off the edges of the umbrella. It also does a great job keeping my backpack dry as the bag is entirely under the umbrella so rain doesn’t drip down the edges of the umbrella onto the bag.

I ordered a black with blue lining and got black with black but a good umbrella. Opens easily. Folds easily and closes well. Large size which is what I wanted, but isn’t a large umbrella when folded up which I like. I recommend.

This is the second one of these I’ve purchased. My daughter “borrowed” the first one and she just adopted it. Nice big canopy that can fit more than those little psuedo umbrellas. Open and close work as easy as just pushing the button. Small enough to store just about anywhere. Recommend.
