Clear as a bell, and nice and large. Covers down to my elbows

This umbrella receives so many compliments, and I adore its unique shape and appearance. It’s perfect for rainy days. However, living in NYC means dealing with some seriously gusty winds. I’ve noticed it’s not the highest quality, as I had to replace it within a couple of months. It’s fantastic for everyday use, just be cautious on those windier days.

This looked fine when it arrived and it was 5 or 6 weeks before I had to use it — it wouldn’t open. a section of the pole near the top was crushed so the slide could not get over it. There was nothing visible when it arrived. What a waste of money.

This is a really different type of umbrella. It was larger than I expected, but the size is not really a problem. It has a good quality handle, making it easy to carry around. The way it opens is not the same as a regular umbrella, so it takes some getting used to.
It is a great umbrella, though. The dome “bubble” style really keeps you dry. It doesn’t get blown around by wind, and you can see where you’re going. It is quite large – I am 5’2” and the canopy covers my head, neck, shoulders, and arms almost down to the elbow. It really protects from the rain. Also offers pretty good wind protection so I don’t have to worry about my hair. 🙂
The material is similar to a shower liner. It seems durable and I haven’t had any problem with buildup so far.
Really cute and super functional. That’s exactly what I look for in a product, so I’m really happy I tried this! It was really different at first, but overall it surpasses my expectations. Other people always compliment it, too, and ask where I got it.

This umbrella is truly perfect. It’s very easy to open, it’s extremely light weight, and the width/depth of the top of the umbrella is perfect. Not to mention the colors! It’s beautiful and much brighter IRL. I get compliments on it every single time I use it in public- literally. It’s a great umbrella. I can’t speak for its durability as I haven’t had it for very long, but I’ll update this after spring and let everyone know how it held up.

I have three grandchildren, all of whom play outdoor fall and sports, so I spend lots of time standing in the rain, snow, cold, & wind! The umbrellas I used to use just weren’t holding up in the weather and I found myself using more of my time wrestling with a product that behaved more like a kite, or getting soaking wet and/or cold when the wind blew from the side.
At a football game, I saw someone with a dome-style umbrella that seemed to meet my needs perfectly, so I searched Amazon when I got home, to see if I could find anything similar. I happened upon the “Totes Luggage Clear Bubble Umbrella” and knew I just had to have one. The price was modest and I knew the brand name Totes had a good reputation so I ordered one right away.
It has not been a disappointment, that’s for sure. The material is a sturdy, thick, clear plastic that I’m able to see through, despite the different weather conditions, as water runs right off of it and drips on the ground, not on ME! Because of the dome-like design, it completely covers me, to mid-thigh. This style really helps in the wind and goes a long way toward keeping me warm.
It’s a larger umbrella than usual, due to the design, and it doesn’t have a button to push that automatically opens it, which is also because of the design, so you have to do that manually. The handle is long and very sturdy, but easy to grip. Overall, it’s somewhat heavier than most umbrellas, bit has to be, due to the dome. I thought the plastic might fog up, especially if it was cold outside and I was breathing on the plastic from the inside, but I was pleasantly surprised that I could always see.
In addition to being outside watching sports, this is a perfect accessory for walking along the street, as it will protect your makeup and hair, along with much of your clothing, so you will arrive at your destination, looking just fine! I recommend this wonderful umbrella without hesitation.

Maybe it sounds silly, but I never have to worry about an umbrella matching what I am wearing. I absolutely love the neutrality of this clear, plastic, umbrella! The plastic is very durable and the dome shape from the umbrella keeps it from blowing inside-out in high winds! Also, with the clear dome, you get much more light and visibility on a dark, dreary, rainy day!

Was so happy to have purchased this umbrella for my son’s wedding. It covered my wife’s entire top of body and saved her hair/makeup.

Every once in awhile, technology hits a “Duh” moment for me – when I see something that’s such an obvious improvement over the status quo that I’m slightly embarrassed that humanity didn’t think of it earlier.
Rolling suitcases are an example. (Seriously, why weren’t those always around? It’s not like the wheel is a new invention.)
And the clear dome umbrella is another. Unlike normal umbrellas, these actually prevent most of your body from getting wet… and when it’s windy, its shape prevents it from getting inverted by the wind, and does a MUCH better job of protecting you from both wind and rain.
Plus, it looks cool – I get regular compliments for it.
The Totes version of this no-brainer seems particularly well-constructed. I’ve bought three, since I keep losing them, and all three have felt sturdy, have never torn, and have reliably “locked” in both the open and closed state with a minimal of fuss. This suggests good quality control to me.
I’m still waiting for the gesture-controlled, hands-free, backpack-launched umbrella to come out. But until then, this is as good as they get.
Update (8/2014): So far, I’ve managed to NOT lose my third umbrella, so I thought I’d comment on durability: This has lasted 1.5 years so far without any signs of deterioration. On many other umbrellas I’ve owned, the canopy begins to detach from the frame – not here. One thing to note is that it does show dirt if you don’t clean it. A wet wipe and about 1 minute solved this problem for me. Also, it looks like the picture associated with this has changed – mine is completely clear, with no bands of color.
